Congratulations to everyone involved in our latest production, Fantastic Mr. Fox, which completed a run of five performances on Saturday.  We had a full cast who managed to stay covid free all week,  and lovely audiences for every performance.

]]><![CDATA[(return to) Fantastic Mr. Fox]]>Sun, 12 Sep 2021 23:00:00 GMThttps://www.leeds-childrens-theatre.co.uk/lct-in-2021-blog/return-to-fantastic-mr-foxToday was the day that members of the original cast of Fantastic Mr. Fox, finally got to meet up and start rehearsing again. It's been such a long break since March 2020, when the night before our dress rehearsal all theatres were instructed to close due to the Covid19 pandemic. It's been a difficuilt time for lots of people, but now we can finally get cracking and bring this marvelous story "off the page and onto the stage" at last.  We're sad that a couple of our original cast members can't be in the play this year, but Graham and James were welcomed into 'Team Fox' tonight. Janine is again directing the show, and Jane is going to figure out how best to resize all of the costumes ... amazing how much children can grow in 18 months isn't it!

We have to pre-register attendance, so we can plan for the number of members attending, to keep everyone safe and happy, but WE ARE BACK!

Summary
Dark comedy about a new online group to help people whose dogs have been mysteriously murdered, which is gatecrashed by a sinister new member who may or may not have something to do with the murdered Mongrels.

Charity
At Leeds Children’s Theatre we are opposed to dog murder or any other mistreatment of dogs, we'd like to assure everyone that no dogs were harmed in the making of this performance. We're taking a collection in support of the Dogs Trust at the end of this performance. Remember, a dog is fur-ever not just for Christmas, so any Dalmatian you can give would be appreciated! (Yes, we do think we’re Howl-arious!)

The ‘Potted Panto’ was written by the late Judith Unwin and has been performed by Leeds Children’s Theatre on many occasions throughout the years. Today's rehearsed play-reading has been adapted and directed by Janine Walker for a Zoom setting.  Dan Dainter has arranged and managed the technical aspects of brining this LIVE performance to our audiance, at home via Zoom.  The performance promises to bring you all of the wonder, villainy and romance of your favourite pantomimes!

As a much respected and longstanding member of LCT Mr Unwin kindly agreed to take on the role that was previously held by his late wife Mrs Judith Unwin.

We are disapointed to have to report that our March 2021 production at the Carriageworks Theatre has also now been cancelled due to the Covid restrictions announced on 5 January 2021.  We still have no idea when theatres will be allowed to reopen for rehearsals and performances. 

November Production 2021
However, we are now making plans for our November 2021 production, in the hope that we will be able to commence face-to-face rehearsals in the summer.
